This Memorial day do not forget to honor those that served and are now serving.

Thinking about retirement?  USPS now has on line videos that may help you with information about retirement on videos
The OPM has a new website which may help in the future but, as of now all it does is pay lip service to the upcoming OPM website.  Once on line this is the place that will be used to apply for retirement from OPM.
The USPS lite-Blue webpage has some information for retirees but, it seems to have been put together as an after thought.  Not much content for retirees just articles that have been brought to the page from another USPS Lite-Blue page.
The best website for retirement information is the NALC website.  A little dry but, you can find what you need to know.

Did you know?

~  That Carriers now have Bereavement Leave agreement that outlines what Carriers are entitled to in case of family loss.   The agreement in part reads like this.

* City Letter Carriers may use up to three (3) work days of annual leave, sick leave or LWOP to make funeral arrangements for, or to attend the funeral services of a family member.

* Family members are defined as:

~Son or daughter; biological, adopted, stepchild or a

           son/daughter-in--law.

~Spouse, parent, sibling; brother, sister, brother/sister-in-law

       ~Grandparents.

* If you choose to use sick leave, the sick leave will be charged against your eighty hours of entitlement for sick leave for dependant care during the year it was used.

If documentation is required read the National Agreement 2006-2011 page 119 to be informed.
