That Carriers now have Bereavement Leave agreement that outlines what Carriers
are entitled to in case of family loss. The agreement in part reads
like this.
* City Letter Carriers may use up to three (3) work days
of annual leave, sick leave or LWOP to make funeral arrangements for, or to
attend the funeral services of a family member.
* Family members are defined as:
~Son or daughter; biological, adopted, stepchild or a
son/daughter-in--law.
~Spouse,
parent, sibling; brother, sister, brother/sister-in-law
~Grandparents.
* If you choose to use sick leave, the sick leave will be charged against your
eighty hours of entitlement for sick leave for dependant care during the year it
was used.
