NALC Alamo Branch 421 influence spreads! Two of our members: North Broadway Station's own Mary Pardo and retired member and past branch president Tim Tracy were elected to SA AFL-CIO Trustee positions. Congratulations to you both.
The Annual leave practices are based on our LMOU. The National Agreement and the JCAM rely heavily on the LMOU for guidance. Any request for annual leave after the choice period selection process is an incidental leave request. In our LMOU it is 31 January of each year.
Annual Leave carryover: 440 hours.
Currently letter carriers can carry over a maximum of 440 annual leave hours from year to year. Please be sure to submit your request for annual leave so you will not forfeit any hours in excess of the maximum carry over. Another option is to donate you annual leave to a fellow employee who qualifies for leave sharing if you are not inclined to use the leave.
PS Form 50, a notice of personnel action, does identify your leave computation date. This is the date the Postal Service uses to compute how much annual leave you are entitled to each year. Your leave is prorated when you reach a new leave category (from four to six to eight hours) during the leave year. This information is also contained on PS Form 50. From an article by Mike Gill
